![]() So many things flat out did not work, DX 12 was basically forget about it. Windows 10 LITE (ghost spectre), MORE FPS for Gamers I saw some comments elsewhere on Guru3D suggesting that the lightweight versions of Win11 such as Ghost Spectre could somewhat improve gaming performance (especially depending on how CPU bound you are it would seem). ![]() I can tell you that in general as an OS, it was utter garbage I cannot answer as to if ghost spectre is useful on a cab or not Mind you that prevents the pc from seeing microsoft at all, even if you need it to see microsoft for some reason.ĭoing so is not really super useful, unless one is telemetry paranoid, and a pincab doesnt generate much telemetry to begin with, if it is even connected to the internet at all. If one really really wants the pc not to be able to see microsoft at all, i could give you a modification to put in the hosts file Keep in mind that also disables AV from updating, so be mindful of web browsing on such a machine Having windows 10 stop doing updates is as simple as disabling intelligent background transfer service and windows update service in services.msc If this ends up being the case, see if you can upgrade to 32Gb.Window 10 does not have that much bloatware to it, and most of it is simply removeable via normal means Since the sticks should really all be of the same speed, you will probably want to swap it all out. Updated on 1: The new Ghost Spectre Windows 11 22H2 SV2 (Official) release was added. Might be able to get it replaced under warranty, but if you find a bad stick you should replace it. You can drop down to 2 sticks, and start testing until you can rule some sticks out and point to a bad stick. Last Updated: 2: Added a new Ghost Spectre Windows 10 AIO (All-in-one) version, that single ISO contains the last 5 major updates (22H2, 21H2, 21H1, 20H2, 20H1) you will get an option to choose from after the installation. ![]() So if the rough guesses are close, the 650W should be fine.Īfter swapping locations, see if the crashing behavior changes. The system itself might use 50 to 100, that would come out to about 370W. 3060 uses about 170W (from a review I read so hopefully that is real-world accurate), and the CPU 100W or less. But that wattage value should be enough for that GPU. Also, the PSU seems like it was a very small upgrade, what prompted that choice? When it comes to PSU's I always recommend buying one with about double the wattage your pc will actually use under load. I've never had to use DDU or go thru any of that mess. ![]() Use little sticky notes with the original slot locations, so that as you try various placements you can always see what the original placement was. Copy and paste 'nhcolor.exe' into System32 (this exe is responsible for the colourful text as well as verification that you are running this on Ghost Spectre OS) Now run Ghost Toolbox.cmd as Administrator. ![]() If you have 4 sticks, swap sticks 1 and 3 with each other, and slots 2 and 4 with each other. Run Ghost Toolbox on any operating system Download the necessary files. Before you do anything, come up with some way to label each stick of ram and make a written note of each sticks' original ram slot location. If you have multiple sticks, you can try swapping chips around. So, depending on your current ram layout, you can try a few things. If there are some bad bits, it can cause the video driver to crash. Windows uses system ram as pagefile for data that will get copied into vRam. Your new GPU has more vRam (12Gb) than your old GPU (3Gb). But there is an equal chance you have a bad stick of ram and just didn't know it until now. Were both upgraded parts new? Even if they were, one could be bad. ![]()
